The longest hour!

Today, at 9 am, we made a presentation for the Neurochemistry class.

Group selection
We were told to make a group, 6 groups altogether, to make a topic presentation. So, we make a group, led by ME, 5 of us. Then to much of our surprise, the other groups have many members, 8 minimum, well, maybe they are far too shy to join...we are 5 eligible bachelors (if not available, but akre is.)

Planning
Due to many circumstances, such ass my stomach ache, raining, stomach ache and raining again (lazy is not included), we, Hisham, Akre, Kerul, Mok and me myself, were unable to congregate to finish up our slides. Yesterday, we were continuously denied by our surroundings even until 10 pm. In the end we decided to do it the next morning, early morning to be exact.

So, this morning, at 7.45 am in the early morning, we gathered at akre and kerul's house..ohya, with mok is in the absentees list, to finished up the slides. Many questions and uncertainties about the topic were raised and left us dumbfounded on how to figure what are the answers, and even worst to reply when those things were asked during the presentation. It was scheduled to have 2 groups to present their topic, so we planned to came in late to let the other group to present first. Hehe, it was a great plan, foolproof and dumbproof with no doubt.

Arrival at the class.
We arrived at 9.15, and this where the best part came . Our plan was dumbproof and foolproof, but not less-a-groupproof. The other group had withdrawn from presenting today, and the whole class was waiting for US! We were stunned and petrified, and our tounges were in knot. We have a whole one hour to spend for our presentation. The worst part was, it will be presented by ME!!! I tried to crap my way out during the presentation, and Dr Habsah was not satisfied for me to finish it in less than 20 minutes, thus she squezzed out questions and comments from the classes or she will produce one herselfs.

The Q.A session
Well, there was I, a Bioinformatician to stand in front of the real Biochemists to describe neurochemistry mechanism, well, I kept on crapped my way but in the end i just ran out of crap and have to ask akre to keep up the crapping (well, i know akre wont, he was the one who made the slides, just wanna make me to look not that bad..hehe). I felt like the hour was standing still. Dr Habsah then insist to have further discussion on the topic, because suddenly she got overwhelmed with the students responds, she just dont want to stop!

It finally ends.
The class went on even 15 minutes after 10am, the upcoming students were constantly making noise but i can say, she have no intention to end the class just yet. Luckily, there was a guy came in and told her that the was an incoming class, and she quickly dismissed the class.


Well, the moral of the story is:

1. Dont procrastinate
2. Do your own slides
3. Dont be a group leader, because it will be you who will be presenting
4. Study your stuff, because there wont be enough crap to squeez out in an hour session
5. Crap wisely, otherwise you will become dry too quick..hehe

an evening in bts

Today, this evening wina and i went to berjaya time square, to catch the Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival held from 18th to 19th October 2008.

well, to be honest, it was all greek to me..looking at all the gadgets and cameras and their accessories, i cant relate a thing. Well, from wina's expression i guess it was her heaven..drooling over all the items that were on exhibit.

I was lucky, because there was a mini workshop, for the beginner..a brief one..to teach on how to take a picture using a DSLR. I dont have much of a clue but i try to absorb as much and as quick as possible. Then, they also give quick tutorial on how to take photos of model or human figurine..and guess who popped out...AMBER CHIA as the test subject!!!

Everyone was quick on their feet to snap as many pics possible....all the photographers were filling in front of the stage..there were LADDERS too..can you imagine?

Using wina's DSLR sony alpha, i tried to snap few pics of her, well, by raising the camera up in the air like all the other pro photographers..but only to get this:

i got only half of her!


this is my best shot..well..she was not looking here..crap..but mak cik there is so funny

i gave up on shooting upfront, so we went up stairs,and i realized that no wonder i cannot get a good pics, can u see the pack of wolves?


hehe..then wina managed to snap this..his jaw literally dropped down!!!


after feasting our eyes, we went to have a cup of hot choc to warm ourselves in the rainy evening..



it was lovely..did i mention it was hazelnut?
we filled up..and it was time to roll back...
a good view from the 8th floor where we parked the car..the glass pane was a bit glossy..reflection appeared on it..what a shame..*sigh

A very long 24 hours!

Yesterday was a very long 24 hours...it's all because we were not able to connect to the internet..due to unknown reason. Well, it was a tormenting moment, feeling disconnected from the world, nothing can be done or done. We were all lying like a hopeless maggots as we cannot embark our journey into the cyberspace. to make things worst, it was raining heavily and the fucking astro was not functioning, only efficient in cutting the line when the bill is not paid, not in their service to their customer. AT night, we figure out we should go out, so we paid visit to Eddy and we lepaked at the kampung baru and strolled aroung Titiwangsa lake.

We came back at 1.00 am and disaapointed to only to find out that the internet service was still not restored. Thus, we all went to sleep. But, this morning, as i woke up, atuk turned to me with a smiling face and said "Internet dah boleh". So our tormenting internetless live has end!
